the list goes on, but these are the major ones at the moment. i just want to get things done and not think about it so much, to which i wind up not doing much of anything. how do you all manage your time? those of you who are moms, any specific things that work for you? i want to be able to do all of the above, and do a good job at them, all the while spending quality time with my family.
since moving from fl, i became an online student, which is nothing but dangerous. with amazing (and much more interesting) outlets, such as online shopping, pinterest, etsy, instagram and twitter being out there, how's a girl to stay focused? to monitor this, i think i'm going to put a time limit on myself. aside from school, i can only be online for a certain amount of time. i haven't decided how much time that will be, but it has to be done.
oh, and btw, i just burnt the rice i was making as i was writing this....haha, nice.

first of all, i just have to say that your new blog look and layout is ADORABLE! did you design it yourself or did you hire someone? pass along the info!
ReplyDeletesecondly, i'd like to say that i am sorry that your plate is so full right now. i definitely understand what it's like to feel so swamped and drained, but adding a child to the mix?? oh boy, i admire you!
keep your chin up pretty lady and remember that this too shall pass!
~Andrea
p.s. totally going to grab one of your new buttons!
ReplyDelete@he calls me wifey thanks, love!! i had someone redesign it for me! her name is brooke and she is amazing. if you scroll down, under my archives, is a button to her blog! xoxo
ReplyDeleteBeing a parent is one of the most important, difficult, tiring, unrelentless jobs anyway, then adding being a SAHM (and subtracting a paycheck) makes it that much more challenging (even though it is also the most rewarding job in the world as well)! Give yourself a huge pat on the back for everything that you are even semi-accomplishing! Geesh! You are going to college, raising a sweet little miss, making time to be in love with your husband, taking care of a household...and then all the other online things you're up to...like this tres chic blog!
ReplyDeleteI love lists; they are the only thing that can even somewhat help me stay organized: daily lists, weekly lists, monthly lists! Also, I've learned that when I bite of more than I can chew (which is way too often) I have to prioritize and then...I have to JUST LET GO of some things at the bottom of that list.
Good luck! I hope summer rejuvenates you and you find all the time and energy you need to get everything done!
ah.. its so tough. but maybe you can ask for help with some things? and time yourself and what you do that way you don't lose track of time... im horrible with timing too, i don't even know what im talking about.. but it makes sense right?! :)
ReplyDeleteI am struggling with this myself. The things that sucks about being overwhelmed is that it seems to ruin any possibility of actually getting things done. :(
ReplyDeleteI just grabbed the daily schedule from igobykatie.com and made a weekly one to post on the fridge. That way (hopefully) I can prioritize my days better and get shiz done!
Today is my first day of cracking down and it's working so far considering I'm writing this at 6:30am...
i can completely relate to this...working 3 jobs, 6 days a week makes me want to pull my hair out...trying to stay sane is tough, you have to try and find your balance my love!
ReplyDeleteHey!!! I saw these and immediately thought of you!

Hope you and Bebe and the princess are doing well. :)
XOXO
I know exactly how you feel! I attend school, keep up with my blog, care for my preschooler and do the home thing all at once, as well. It definitely makes me want to pull my hair out, some days. The only advice I have for you is to sit down and make out a very detailed schedule for yourself. Then, its all self-discipline. You have to make your self stick to it.
ReplyDeleteGood luck!!
I have the same problem..as we speak, Im trying to get some work done..but these blogs are just so inspiring!! lol I usually try to schedule some time for internet / twitter / blogs / facebook, or keeps lists of the priority things. Its hard to keep motivated, but once i get a few things done on my list, I feel accomplished! So with that said..maybe I should get back to work.

YIKES. That sounds incredibly intense. I have an 11 month old running around, though I'm only a part time undergrad and blogger. I can't imagine being a full time grad student, let alone doing the blogging AND running an etsy shop. Plus all the extra housework. DO you not sleep?
ReplyDeleteHope you find some seriously deserved R&R soon!
Blogging's always the first thing to go when I'm busy! I like having a routine but not a massively strict routine, so I would do something like Monday = homework, Tuesday = chores, Wednesday = homework, Thursday = Etsy shop, etc, etc. Teach the littl'un to help you with the housework, Mary Poppins style! I would use blogging as a reward for yourself for getting other things done, eg: once I've cleaned the bathroom I can spend X amount of time blogging until it's time to make dinner...
ReplyDeleteYou sound like some kind of superhero already though, so don't be too hard on yourself :)
What are the courses that you're taking? sometimes willing to be better is already a huge step!;)
